The Calabar High School class ring, made to order by The Wright Jewels. We have been making rings for Calabar boys since 1950, when Leonard Wright first cut the school crest by hand in Kingston, Jamaica, and the shield-top signet on this page is the design most Calabar old boys will recognise. Each ring is cast in your choice of metal, set with the Calabar crest, and finished with your graduation year, whether you are leaving sixth form this year or replacing a ring you first wore decades ago.
Choose your Calabar ring
This is the classic shield-top signet in the men’s cut. We also make two other Calabar designs: the stone-top ring with a coloured centre stone, and the crest ring in the American college style. All three carry the same crest and are made the same way.
Metals and pricing
Prices start at $100 in sterling silver 925 and run to $890 in 14K yellow gold, depending on the metal you choose. Silver is the popular choice for a first ring; gold is what most alumni and parents choose for a gift that will be worn for life. Sizing
Sizes run from US 5 through 13, including half sizes. If you are ordering from abroad and are not sure of your size, order the size you wear on the same finger in another ring, or contact us and we will send you a simple way to measure at home. Rings can be resized later.
How long it takes, and where we ship
Every Calabar ring is made to order. Production takes 4 to 6 weeks, after which we ship to the United States, Canada, Jamaica and the wider Caribbean, with tracking. Other countries are quoted individually.
Who orders this ring
Graduating students and their parents, most of all. But a large share of our Calabar rings go to old boys living in New York, Toronto, London or Florida who lost their original ring or never got one, and to the Calabar Old Boys’ Association and reunion committees ordering for a whole year group. If you are organising rings for a class or an association, contact us and we will handle sizing and individual engraving for the group.
About Calabar High School
Founded in 1912 in Kingston, Calabar is one of Jamaica’s best-known boys’ schools, with a long tradition in athletics and academics and an old boys’ network that spans the Caribbean, North America and the UK. The ring is the one piece of Calabar most alumni keep for the rest of their lives, and it is the reason we take such care over the crest.
